The Artists

Pat Wictor - The Times They Are A-Changin'

Pat Wictor first burst on the folk and acoustic scene as an innovative slide guitarist known for fresh and memorable interpretations of traditional and contemporary songs. He has since made his mark as a singer-songwriter penning lean and poetic songs that incorporate - and subvert - rural blues and gospel traditions. For the past five years he's been touring nationally as one third of Brother Sun, the powerful harmonizing trio with Joe Jencks and Greg Greenway, garnering critical acclaim, a #1 CD on the Folk DJ charts, and a continent-spanning tour schedule.

Recognition and honors have followed Pat for years: he won the Falcon Ridge Emerging Artist Showcase, was nominated for Emerging Artist of the Year by the Folk Alliance, was nominated for Gospel Song of the Year by the Independent Music Awards, and was a finalist in the Kerrville New Folk songwriting contest. His CD, Sunset Waltz, reached #2 on the Folk-DJ charts, and Heaven Is So High and Waiting for the Water both reached #4. And even more attention has come to Pat through his work in Brother Sun.

Caroline Doctorow - Time Passes Slowly

Caroline Doctorow is a chart-topping folksinger and songwriter with a stirring voice that recalls Judy Collins and Sandy Denny. In addition to eleven solo albums, she was the first artist to release a retrospective of the work of folk icons Richard and Mimi Fariña. That album, called Another Country... The Songs of Richard and Mimi Fariña, received critical acclaim. Caroline tours with her folk band, Caroline's Trio, and hosts the monthly folk radio show, Songtrails. She is the daughter of world-renowned author, E.L. Doctorow

Gathering Time - Chimes of Freedom

Folk-rock harmony trio, Gathering Time, swept the Folk Chart in March as their new CD, Keepsake, came in as the #1 album with the #1 single and five other songs in the top 25, making them the #1 act on the Folk DJ-List. Fans on the Long Island folk scene have known them for years, however, for their astute songwriting and faithful interpretations of 1960s classics and creative interpretations of traditional tunes, as well as their stellar vocal blend.

Voted best band runner-up (and top folk band) in the 2011 Long Island Press readers' poll, Gathering Time is best described as a rocked up Peter, Paul & Mary or a co-ed Crosby, Stills & Nash, with a bit of The Byrds and a jot of Joni Mitchell.

No less an authority than WFUV's John Platt has written that they are "among the finest performers in the New York metropolitan area, whatever the size of the venue, from a house concert to an outdoor festival," with "harmonies that can charm the birds out of the trees, strong original songs, and a savvy repertoire of cover songs, ranging from traditional folk to classic rock."

Miles To Dayton - I'll Be Your Baby Tonight

Come and meet the family you never knew you had. Miles to Dayton’s music happens at a personal level, their message of love blending elements of folk, rock, classical, and funk into an irresistible invitation. The M2D recipe is simple: four-part vocal harmony, clever songwriting, improvisational violin and cello, and an infectious rhythm section that stirs up the creative stew.

At the heart of their unique marriage of styles lies a real-life marriage: vocalist Krista Preddice shares the microphone with husband Jonathan Preddice, who, in addition to being the principal songwriter for the group, also shines on guitar, cello, accordion, and trumpet. Bassist Dave March (Krista’s brother) and violinist Leanne Strom (Jon’s sister) add depth to the vocal harmonies with Dave’s low, soulful bass and Leanne’s soaring classical virtuosity providing the sonic bookends for the M2D sound. Drummer Brian Kroll, the newest member of the group, propels the music forward with an exciting and funky edge.

Having built a large grass roots following of fans young and old, Miles to Dayton has headlined performances at the Patchogue Theater and sold out the Boulton Center, with notable gigs at The Paramount, Great South Bay Music Festival, and the NoFo Rock and Folk Festival. They’ve been the featured artist at the Acoustic Long Island Podcast and Summer Concert, and have performed in listening rooms, festivals, bars and venues in the Northeast.

Equally at home in the acoustic or full band setup, M2D has shared the stage with the likes of The Subdudes, Leslie West, Jorma Kaukonen, Tom Paxton, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and Richie Havens, to name a few.

Jack Licitra - I'll Keep It With Mine

He has performed with some of the best musicians in the world such as Levon Helm, Jimmy Vivino and Bakithi Kumalo as well as opened shows for legends such as Richie Havens, Buckwheat Zydeco, Pinetop Perkins and even playing for then Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton. Jack recorded two songs for Fast Folk Music Magazine as a college student in the 1990s. He spent a year working closely with Jack Hardy as a mentor and playing bass for Jack at New York clubs such as Sine and The Bottom Line. He has fond memories of this period, jamming poolside in Maine with Richard Shindell and Cormac McCarthy. He founded the mythical “Waterstreet Blues Band” in Oneonta, NY in 1992 and began touring the Northeast. He then joined Kerry Kearney to open for The Allman Brothers and Dickie Betts Band around the United States. He has played on over 100 releases for other artists and has produced many other artists. Hank Stone - I Pity The Poor Immigrant

Hank Stone has been writing songs for over forty years but only started bringing them out to audiences in 2001. He quickly made a name for himself in the Long Island, New York music scene, and has since recorded two CDs of his original tunes, and is now performing often, as a solo act and also with his band. Hank is recording two more CDs in 2016, one with the band and one solo.

Solo, Hank Stone calls to mind the diverse songwriters of the 1960s and 1970s, from Donovan to Paul Simon, Van Morrison to Jackson Browne. Walt Graham of Acoustic Connections on WSHU in Fairfield, Connecticut, called Hank "a unique and wonderful songwriter."

Hank Stone Band features Todd Evans on guitar, Mike Christian on bass, and Gary Settoducato on percussion, ably backing Hank's guitar, vocal and harmonica. Their unique arrangements and versatile playing open up Hank's clever and touching songs, which encompass Americana, blues, folk, country, and world music flavors.
They have been playing the folk music circuit on Long Island and beyond for several years now.

Allen Santoriello - Hazel

Allen earned the nickname "Little Wilson" because of his soulful vocal style. The band, Little Wilson, was formed in 1979 and continues to play to large, enthusiastic crowds. Renowned for their distinctive R&B style, they cover music from the 1940s to the 1970s. In 2005, The Little Wilson Band released Never Too Late, a CD of original and classic blues and swing.

In the 90s, Allen was the lead singer for the regionally successful band, Cadillac Moon.  Cadillac Moon toured up and down the East Coast promoting their CDs Plug Me In and In the Kitchen.  Their song, "Show Me Your Tattoo" appears in the movie, The Devil's Advocate.  He still plays with some of the former members of Cadillac Moon in The Walkers.  The Walkers CD, Best Foot Forward, is a fun collection of covers and originals.

Allen plays regularly as a solo artist all over Long Island and the Tri-State area.

Embarking on a new and exciting journey, Allen has finally gone into the studio to record his long awaited solo record featuring all original music. The CD features an eclectic mix of some of Long Island's top musicians that he has been fortunate enough to play with over his long career.  The CD, entitled Pros & Cons was released on Paradiddle Records in November of 2015.

Annie Mark & Chris James - I Threw It All Away

Annie Mark and Chris James. Strong vocals, confident and assured. Two people – deeply entwined, playing to one another- locked in harmony, making music together. An organic, raw and rootsy feel always driven by Chris' powerful guitar. Annie's voice, at different turns, sometimes powerful and at times achingly vulnerable. Annie and Chris move seamlessly from genre to genre- drawing from their vast musical tastes for their shows-Americana, blues, country, folk, rock, whether playing originals or paying homage to those who have come before. Annie and Chris - strong performers on their own - together a dynamic duo - bring their devotion and dedication to serving each song up to each other and their listeners with all their heart and soul.

The Hideaways - From a Buick 6

Although The Hideaways are primarily a blues band, they prefer to go beyond the rehashing of traditional Chicago Blues styles just to please the purists. They instead acknowledge the Blues artists they love, while also allowing elements of old R&B, country, rockabilly, instrumental surf, and soul jazz to infiltrate their high-energy sound. It's all connected, at least in their minds. This quartet is currently comprised of Roger Murdock (Drums), Chris Laybourne (Baritone and Tenor Saxophone), Sean O’Neill (Bass) and Chris James (Guitar, Organ, and Vocals). The Hideaways believe in playing what they would call Rockin’ Blues, instead of Blues Rock. The short version of this is, they play what they like... and they hope you like it too!

Bill Shuren & The Cavalry - I'm Alright

Bill Shuren & The Cavalry made their first appearance as a band performing in the 6th annual folk festival on March 7th, 2015 at the Patchogue Theatre in Patchogue, NY. In and effort to promote Bill's solo EP, The Gamble, the band took the stage and their performance was quoted as "Bill Shuren and The Cavalry took the theatre by storm". The band, consisting of Bill Shuren on Rhythm guitar and lead vocals, Charlie Drannbauer on lead guitar and backing vocals, George Lederer on bass and Brian Schwirzbin on drums, left a lasting impression opening several doors that became a series of fortunate events. Shortly after recording "I'm Alright" with Bill Herman of Paradiddle records another fortunate opportunity presented itself when the band was invited to open for Rascal Flatts at the Pennysaver Amphitheatre located at Bald Hill on Long Island, NY in September of 2015. Bill Shuren & The Cavalry has a sound that is refreshing and shares a hint of the past and the promise of an exciting future in both the local and national music scene. Their music always has a story to be told, a lesson to be learned, and a bit of hope to hold onto. Bill and the Band have since been writing and recording their first full album that will be released in August 2016.

Bob Westcott - Love Minus Zero, No Limit

Guitarist Bob Westcott is no stranger to Long Island audiences. His career began as a teenager playing guitar in the streets and baskethouses of Greenwich Village, and, more auspiciously, as one of the very first members of the Wes Houston Band. Onetime owner of Folk City and famed Greenwich Village scene author Robbie Woliver has called Bob "the real deal", and for good reason: Bob has been perfecting his elegant finger-style guitar work for well over 30 years. During the 60's, Bob played in the basket houses of Greenwich Village, then moved to Manchester, England to explore the British folk scene, then traveled throughout Canada and the US in the 70's, living in the Midwest, California and upstate New York before settling on eastern Long Island.

Both timely and timeless, his astonishing guitar playing and universally resonant songwriting have made him a perennial favorite on the Long Island scene and he impresses audiences wherever he goes. His performances are peppered with stories about his personal experiences, his travels and travails. This professional is also a Long Island Music Award nominee, and his album, Rollin' Along, finds frequent use in many a CD player. His CD Wherever You Go is beautifully crafted, an exploration of instrumental destinations which is "well-grounded and substantial, yet delicate and airy... an appealing choice for any fan of melodic instrumental music.

Bob has opened for several nationally-known performers, including John Hammond, Merle Haggard, Richie Havens, Tom Paxton, The Nields, and Richard Shindell. His ''Annual Holiday Revue'' is a perennial favorite event of Long Island audiences, and he is much in demand as a session player, showcasing his breathtaking skill as a fingerpicker and multi-instrumentalist.

Claudia Jacobs - Buckets of Rain

Claudia Jacobs is an inviting combination of soulful singer, heartfelt poet and ballsy broad who fills a room with her friendly and open personality and her insightful and deceptively simple songs.  Heartbreaking one moment and rambunctiously brassy the next, few performers can fill a stage as completely.  Her compositions reflect her varied musical inspirations and her covers, though rarely performed, expose her philosophy of ‘bring something new to an old song, serve it, or just listen to the original.’  Awarded the title of "Long Island's Favorite Soul Singer" (Long Island Press) and "One of the New York areas finest female singer-songwriters..." ( John Platt, WFUV), she has shared the stage with many folk icons and played many venues over the years, both solo and with her band, and is proud to be a part of the rich Long Island music community.   She is hoping that her next record, a personally long-awaited return to her Americana roots, will be out by early 2017.  www.claudiajacobs.com

Joe is the founder and guitarist for 2U, the most successful U2 tribute band in the world.  Joe has toured the world with 2U playing everywhere from Orlando, FL to Dubai.

Joseph Cumia, President of "Brother Joe Entertainment Inc." (www.notu2.com), started his company in the Fall of 1999 and have, in the course of the past 17 years, given birth to, groomed, managed and continue to book several of the world's "Top Shelf" tribute acts, full time.

He hopes you enjoy listening to his rendition of Mr. Dylan's B-Side album track "I Want You", half as much as he enjoyed recording it!
