Alive After Five
  • Alive After Five
July 18 – Miller’s Crossing - original bluegrass from Long Island. Miller's Crossing prides itself on the original material each member brings to the band's repertoire and play bluegrass music the way they feel it. The result is a fresh outlook on the music while not getting too far away from it's roots.

July 25 – Miles to Dayton -With a well-crafted mix of folk, rock, classical and funk, this Long Island based ensemble brings an honest message of love, life and laughter to each performance with three-part harmony, improvisational violin and cello, and a solid rhythm section that stirs up the creative stew.

August 1 – Ed Travers Band - The Alive after Five debut of one of Long Island most popular bands playing the best of Jimmy Buffett and lots of hits from the 60's to the 90s.

August 8 – Paradiddle Records, Long Island's hot indie label presents an evening of acoustic music from Paradiddle Recording artists Jay Scott, Johnny Cuomo, Iridesense and special guests!

August 15 – Atlantic Community Band
Evolving from the North Patchogue Fire Department band into the Patchogue Community Band and now the The Atlantic Community Band, this band has members from all over Suffolk County. Paradiddle Records is hailed as "One of the true champions of Long Island music" (Good Times Magazine, 1/30/07)

Paradiddle Records is the creation of Bill Herman and Tom Crawford and forged on a lifelong love of discovering new and exciting music. Our goal is to bring this joy of discovery to a broader audience.

We are pleased to showcase exciting new songwriters and musicians. In addition, Paradiddle Records will develop projects that cater to a very specific audience - projects that might not find an outlet elsewhere.

As a Long Island based company we are particularly proud to showcase Long Island's outstanding talent.  However, when considering a new artist, or our next project, we never consider locale, genre, style or marketability. We only ask ourselves one question: is this quality music that deserves to be heard?  Here, at Paradiddle Records, we are always looking for new voices and new visions.

Join us for a musical journey through uncharted waters.

Island Songwriters Showcase-ISS
  • Island Songwriters Showcase-ISS
The Island Songwriter Showcase (ISS) is a Long Island-based organization of songwriters, lyricists, producers, engineers, performers, and DJ's with a common purpose: to develop and support musical talent through community, workshops, peer review and live performances. The ISS has become the largest, most visible and sought-after group of songwriters on Long Island. The ISS welcomes songwriters with a variety of backgrounds, experience and objectives. Workshops, showcases and membership is free to anyone interested in improving their craft and helping others to do the same. The history of the ISS begins in the late 70s with Harry Chapin and Rob Baranello (and myself). Harry held a songwriter circle in his home which I attended. The group inspired several independent songwriter groups in the area. Rob, who had attended some of the Manhatten songwriter groups, founded the ISS, holding the first meeting in the Huntington Public Library on Main Street. Since then, the ISS has enjoyed the attendence and contributions of many fine songwriters and continues to grow. The story of the ISS continues in the tradition of a volunteer organization for the art of songwriting and the support and success of songwriters.
