Mary Lamont
Called “the Queen of Long Island Country” by Newsday, Mary Lamont has been named Band of the Year by the New York Metro Country Music Association, and was the first American country act to tour Mainland China (and will be returning to China this year!). She is featured in ASCAP.COM’s Audio Portraits (permanently on ASCAP.COM), which profiles promising and established ASCAP members and their musical achievements.
Thousands have seen Mary and band performing multiple shows over several years at the Jones Beach Boardwalk Bandshell (and will be returning for multiple shows in the 2008 season). Other local venues have included Westbury Music Fair (opening for Delbert McClinton & Marshall Tucker Band), headlining at the prestigious IMAC (Inter-Media Art Center – Huntington, hosted by WFUV’s John Platt) and Brookhaven National Lab’s Berkner Hall, Oysterfest, Riverhead Country Fair, Chelsea Piers, Huntington Fall Festival, Westport’s Levitt Pavilion, Danbury City Center and many others.
Mary was voted Singer/Songwriter of the Year twice by the New Jersey Country Music Association, and nominated Best Country Act by the Long Island Music Awards.
