Jay Scott

Jay Scott's sound is immediately recognizable because of his distinctive and passionate vocal style and bluesy, heartfelt songs. He has one of those voices that make people stop in mid sentence and turn to the stage when they hear him for the first time. His debut EP, "Music for Mind and Soul" is available in the catalog section of our web site.

In 2002, his group Square1 recorded and toured locally, creating a buzz throughout NYC and Long Island before moving to Southern California where they toured from LA to San Diego. Simple Citizen was born when Chris DeFao joined the group, and after they disbanded, Jay Scott began performing as a solo artist, and still performs with DeFao today. Whether he is playing solo or backed by his groove-inspired band, Jay Scott sings from the heart. His lyrics and music are truly for the mind and soul.
