Codiak is a four-piece original rock band from Long Island, New York. The band is David Taylor (vocals/acoustic guitar); Stephen Byrne (lead guitar); Ken Rodgers (bass); and Matty Sapolin (percussion).

Inspiration for the music is drawn from the band’s desire to remain contemporary, relevant, and yes… even radio-friendly. A listener can expect to hear heavy drum beats, a driving bass, distorted guitar riffs, and stimulating lyrics.

Often mistaken for a British import, Codiak forgoes branding its music with descriptive titles such as alternative, garage rock, or punk. The tunes are what they are: true music for the times.

Straight out of New York's legendary rock scene, Codiak burst on to the map in 1996. After years of internal strife and outside demand for more, Codiak has returned to the scene in 2009 with "The Pinewood Sessions," an eclectic, can't miss EP. If you like a mix of modern and soft rock with lyrics that the everyman can relate to, this EP is for you. From the classic juke-box favorite thirteenth floor, to Dave Taylor's rockerotic anthem, "The Money," this EP is a taste of what the future holds for Codiak.
