Independent Release (2004)
Cadillac Moon delivers their one two punch. It's a lethal combination of funk, rock, soul and blues. This CD showcases an original sound, from the scintilating and sultry Miss Leslie Zimei, the electrifing Mike Nugent, the asked man Mark Mancini, the down and under dude from Sydney Nevell L'Greene, the amazing horn section John Marshall, Bob Cassara, and Mike Mattia and talented Cliff Hackford on drums.
Long Island Press - January 2005:
Before you get any preconceived notions, the "influence" that blues-rock band Cadillac Moon is under is definitely not alcohol or drugs. The eight-member veteran band (from Northport, Huntington, New York City, Farmingdale and Rockville Centre) is simply under the influence of love, music and peace. Lyrically, love (or lack thereof) has the most prominence here: "Bye Bye Baby" is about a woman being tough and not needing her man's love anymore, "Witness" (an R&B tune not unlike Aretha Franklin) is about divorce, and "You've Gotten Over Me" is about an ex who has gotten over the relationship too quickly. Oh, it gets more bluesy, don't you worry: "This Ain't No House" regards an unhappy housewife living in a hopeless marriage. It's heartbreaking and she's got the blues, sure, but Leslie Zimei sounds strong with her husky vocals, always confident on continuing with life. The record starts to drag a little toward the end, but the horn section, piano and guitar keep it moving under the influence of R&B, gospel, and funk. - Kenyon Hopkin
